Nothing Could be Done without Family and Friends

Hello,

This was a fantastic weekend. Both sets of parents flew out to help their babies get going on the next adventure. Besides hitting record breaking heat, everything was a success. The parents seemed to get along and we accomplished a ton at the houses.  One of the best parts was that we started the weekend with a brunch for all of our families to meet the girls (and Aaron).  Thanks to all who came this weekend.

Swiss Transportation

We have decided to start off with the basics 1st. Here is Ashleigh and her brand new bicycle!

International House Hunters

Scott and I went out to Switzerland in mid-July to find a place to live.  Franziska is our wonderful realtor who spent the week with us and put up with my 1000 questions which included drilling her on where I will be able to find a "good" flat iron.  She also explained that we were going to look at places that were 3-5 pieces.  These 3-5 pieces could include any combination of rooms (bedrooms, living, family, eat in kitchens).  We looked at 5 properties the first day and another 6 two days later with a day to the office in between. We ended up narrowing the 11 options to these 3:

1. The House on the Lake-brand new apartment right on Lake Geneve. Very modern 2 bedroom that was right in the middle of a very quaint town and just a couple minute walk to the bus which takes us straight to the office. Plus: Location, Con: No yard for the dogs
2. The House on the Mountain-16 switchbacks up the mountain behind the office. BEAUTIFUL view as the entire dining room and living room looked out over Montreux and the lake. Plus: best view imaginable Con: driving 16 switchbacks in the snow with a stick shift car (reminder: I grew up in AZ)
3. The House on the Farm-brand new 4 bedroom house 25 minutes from the office in the Swiss countryside. Plus: very roomy, very Swiss feel, organic farm across the street, Con: furthest from town

Well, it's determined. After much deliberation and an adventure that was right off of the show, "International House Hunters" we are moving to the farm! We feel like this is the best option for our furry friends (Izzie and Deacon).  We'll also have lots of room for visitors and it is a quick 15 minute bus ride to town.  No we just can't wait to move in!
